Variety

My first build

This was based on a Flor de las Antillas box. The neck is walnut salvaged from a refurbishment of a bank in my local town of Exeter in England. It was laminated and joined with plywood strips in grooves which was used for decorative effect on the neck. The bridge, nut, sound holes and dots is ebony. The decoations are mother of pearl and abalone. The volume knob is burr elm and ebony. All items were taken from my stock, most of which have been in my workshop for over twenty years. Apart from an electric drill used to cut the pellets for the fret marker dots all the work was carried out using hand tools.
