Ballymack, what type of cigar box guitar do you have or ar making? If it's slide there are thousands. Study the lessons on this site for the basics then (if it's slide) start with some really good standards that can be found here or on the youtube site. DUST MY BROOM is a good one, ROLLING AND TUMBLING being another good one to begin with. Look up say Robert Johnson and Eric Claptons blues stuff in order to get a few songs underway

I spin them Robert. However, when they spin 'real' cones, the process is only partly about shaping them. They use an anealled alloy which changes is structure as its spun - obviously that doesnt occour with sweety tins! So I guess that while they are spun, the process is more like pressing. Hope that makes sense!

Il get around to doing a proper advert for these with some blah blah about them, but briefly, know that the sound isnt like a real reso cones, but it does add a significant amount of volume and 'jangle' over a standard (non-reso) acoustic. For a demo, check out Hogs Grunts page - he has 3 videos and a load of pics on there using one of my Candy Cones.

Sizewize, they are 5 1/4", but come with a rough cut 6" flange, so you can trim them down to suit. They are 25mm - 30mm deep. As they are all hand done, they do differ slightly, but not much.

Note of warning before you choose your pattern though.... the Quality Street ones arnt in production due to the deep embossing on the tins causing splits.

Either email me direct to order, or buy on my site at www.randyroosterscigarboxguitars.com

Cheers chaps :o)

Roosterman,

I'd love to get some of your 'recycled' biscuit cones. What size are they?
Comment by Robert Edwin Keable on February 20, 2010 at 7:07am
Roosterman do you spin these or press them? not that it matters I want I want .
Comment by Roosterman on February 20, 2010 at 6:17am
I realize you probably want a 'real reso cone that will give a 'real' reso sound, but if you want something a bit different, I have these recycled cones in stock. £6 each inc UK delivery, or 3 for £15 delivered :o)
