Hi.

I was asked to post the tabs for House of the Rising Sun. OK. Found some free software (TuxGuitar) and I have done the tabs. How do I get them onto CBN so people can see them?

Hi Eric.

Thanks for the offer. The thing that concerns me is that I can't expect you to convert my files every time I want to put tabs up (and I'm sure you have much better things to be doing). In fact I can export them as a PDF. Once I have the PDF I can convert that to a jpeg in Photoshop. The problem that I have now found is that the numbers for the tabs are so small that they are hard to read. You can increase the font size for the way they appear in the program, but that doesn't change the size when printed out.

Thanks again for the help. All the best.

John

Hi Eric.

Where would I post a pdf? I tried under "Pictures" but it only accepts .jpg, .gif and .png files. I did try a couple of times just in case but it said there was a problem and wouldn't upload. I tried adding it to this discussion and didn't have any greater success.

All the best.

John

well just post the pdf then everyone can open that and they can zoom in if they need to

If this works then the House of the Rising Sun tabs should be here.

They look rather blurry, but you are right. There they are. Many thanks Eric.

That is what the prog produces. I am working on another solution. What I have done is taken a screen grab and saved it as a tiff. I will rearrange it a bit to fit better with a normal screen layout and post as a jpeg. The screen image is much better than the pdf it makes. Free software, so I suppose I can't exactly ask for my money back.

Clearly better software. Two questions. Is it free and will it run on a Mac?

All the best.

John

This is what I did from the screen cap, and rearranging it a bit in Photoshop (and bumping up the size). As you can see, I chopped out the top line to make it easier to read.

Thanks for the info on the software.

All the best.

John

Hey Eric, what if you use the four string tab and just "ignore" one?

here's a hot rod Lincoln that i had guitarpro transpose to 4 string wont let me do 3 (bummer) then exported to pdf

Hey

As anybody got tabs for Amazing Grace on a three stringer

can you move file to desktop then drag and drop in my music?or somthing like that or save it in notepad? all new to me

Hi Slim.

The only visual file that the program produces is a PDF but these are stupidly small. I have solved it this time by doing a screen grab and editing in Photoshop. Next time I will try some different software if I can find any. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey John

Any chance you can do tabs for Amaising Grace ?
