cant beat thrift store, out of fashion ladies belts..

these were a dollar each, i got plenty

dog leashes are cool too, or chain from the hardware store.  I always put a cheesy ladies belt on mine

tthe best ones have all the tassly shit on the ends, that makes em real easy to tie on  there

Oh yeah, that bottom one is a great find. Thats perfectly adapted, like it was made for that. The light colored one in the middle too.

Better use than originally intended in my opinion!

cigar box guitars are made for SITTIN' and playin'. Straps? We don't need no steenking straps!

My 'ol friend of 13 years just left for the happy poopin' grounds above, so I'm usin' her 'ol leash on my brass geetar.

It works good n' makes me feel good too.

I like to walk around the yard n' woods whilst playin' so a strap is kind of a must...

nice use for that old leash, keeps memories of your ol' pal at hand

dog leashes are great as the handle goes right over head stock (pre stringing) then I bolt at the base of your cbg and she will hook right up
I braid mine from cotton clothesline. Then I soak 'em in tea to stain 'em a little, make 'em look old. You can make 5-7 three-string braided straps from the $2.95 per roll Ace hardware 30 m (100 ft) cotton clothesline rolls.

Although my wife is amused with the idea - she'll eventually crochet me a guitar strap using so called Tunisian crochet technique (don't ask me) - I found the Oily's idea quite appealing.

Short Google search brought this:

(notice the innovative use of a vise...)

If it is good for middle-age weapons it may as well fit my CBG...

Old neck ties...

and for the marathon-gigs:

Rafal,

CBGs = Middle-Aged Weapons

I like that! It would look great on a T-shirt...

Thanks very much for the Google link to the braided baldric. I'd figured out the 4-string simple braid he shows on my own, as I had some leftover clothesline to play with (almost called my wife and / or 13-year-old daughter for help!), but seeing this gave me even more ideas.

Leath-errrr...

Looking at the profile photos - "Weapons of the Middle-aged" would be more appropriate >:)
