A friend gave me this mandolin with the head broken off and hanging from the plastic truss rod cover. I wish I had taken a photo of it completely separated, but I did not get that done.

I glued and clamped it for 24 hours then cut the head stock shorter -thinking that it would hold together better with 4 strings rather than 8. You can see that crack in the head stock close up.

It came out pretty good. I was a cheap ass and reused the strings. Hey, the glue might not have held.

Maybe someday when I put on new strings, I will sand down the head stock and improve the close up looks of it. Meanwhile, keep your social distance and it looks great.

It is a pretty thing Unc. A lot of electric mandolins are 4 string...

It looks amazing from where I am looking at it on my screen Unc J.  Cracking repair job... if you know what I mean.

That may have been it, AGP. It is actually a nice little mando and I like it as a four string and not so loud. I just figured out how to pick melodies in G - pretty darned easy.

Pretty Little Critter 'UJ', good idea to go with 4 strings, but the strength of some of the glues these days is surprising, maybe the makers name was Shito  :-D

No, Brian. I forget what it was for sure. I think it said, 'Shino' of 'Shiro'.
