I am probably the last to know but I just discovered backing tracks. Tons of them on YouTube such as slow blues in G. Now I need to try to learn some solo riffs. Anyone have any favorite tracks to share?

Soloing is easy. Start with one note. Any note in the scale your playing in. Then make that single note sound good. Give that single note some life. Vary how hard and soft you make it sound. Mute it. Bend up or slide down to it. Hit it once and let it fade away. Now try it with two notes. I know it sounds weird now. But once you get into it you'll get it.

I don't really have any favorite tracks. Almost every track I hear I like playing over. Well all but the country pick'en tracks. I am really REALLY no good at playing country music.

thanks for those links!! enough there to keep me going for months...lol

was going to ask Kigar what tracks he used..

I have only tried a few, one was the last one inqstvkat listed.  Slow blues in G works well for cbg's of the same tuning.  Also I found a few songs the same way - for example Tom Petty's American Girl without guitar or vocals. I can sort of play that on regular guitar by myself but it was hard trying to play and keep time with the "band".

yeah , cats are judgemental...lol mine used to look at me with a look like, really you think you can do any better than last time??
