Question about staining wood

I am building a hard maple neck for a new instrument

Does hard maple take stain ok?

I'm wanting to use a light stain by inward called Golden Pecan

Any help much appreciated

That's Minwax not inward....dam spell checker I hate it

One thing I like about about Minwax is the way it also seals/finishes the wood.  I tend to flood the piece and let it soak in, adding more on porous woods.

Agreed maple stains well. I have used the minwax golden pecan on maple I thought it turned out great it came out a nice honey color. Bought a big container of it on scratch and dent used it on evrrything there for a long while.

Practice on some scrap maple if you can.
