Hi to all... ;-)
I saw some pics of CBG with mag pickup (singlecoil), where the pup was mounted under the soundboard. The coils where extended with screws or so, so only this screw heads (or other "extensions") can be seen. Do someone have some tips about this? Which material is the best for the extensions? ...? Every help is highly welcome ;-)

I've owned several plywood body guitars in the past. I got rid of most of them because they didn't offer much tone wise.
I have a hollow body guitar made of some Asian plywood that is 1/8th" thick ply and has a body that is just under 2" thick and sounds decent with the right pickups.
CBG's with plywood boxes and pressed paper tops sound good. This completely throws people off. The link that seems to matter is those plywood boxes are made from different woods than the Pine oriented plywood of the US. The US will use the cheapest materials for plywood while other country's will use what left overs they have at hand.

I have a few very high output pickups. Aways wanted to put them completely under the wood. Might be the only way to make em sound good. : )

One of these days I plan to put a lipstick tube pickup under the board of my Cedar Acoustic CBG. Was hoping for a subdued pickup to play nice with the acoustic strings.

Which pickup is better for mountibg under soundboard? With a higher output...

If your not having any holes drilled or a window cut through for the poles, I would recommend a 5k output or higher for best results. A lot depends on how thick the top is and how close the pickup will be to the top. The pickup will most likely still be able to read the strings, but will be subdued unless it's a higher output pickup.

Don't know exactly what pickup your using. If your using a typical Strat type - they will most likely be fine. It's been done before with good results. If your using a Humbucker/Double Coil - you'll be fine unless your using something very low output.

The originals and most reproductions of these are low output. GFS has higher output repro's. 4.6k for neck, 6k RWRP for middle and a whopping 8k for bridge. Guitarfetish.com

The Taylor T5Z acoustic/electric guitars have a Humbucking pickup buried in the neck pocket. Would love to see some detailed plans on one of those.
