Got an Email from Stewmac and it showed this video of a guitar(one piece body and neck) made of ceramic from 1965. It's a cool story about the guitar and the guy that made it. They also talk about how it was made.

Dan fixed it and played it at the end of the video. It has a good clear tone to it, would be great for Jazz. Just thought I'd share.

very  cool  . ill  have to  come back  to  it  when  i  can  crank  the  volume and  everyone's awake  ;-)

great  share  ;-)

Thank you for sharing that, AMAZING

That had to be hard to make.

Can you imagine walking on stage to play and a strap slips off, guitar hits the floor and shatters. Opps!

Has a P90 pickup in it. Wonder if it was prone to feedback problems? I would've made a box for the pickup to go in that inserts into the guitar. Awesome engineering.

 That's really cool.

Having done ceramic work myself makes it all the more impressive. He'd have to account for probably 10% shrinkage during firing (like they discussed with drilling the holes). Slumping of the body, glaze sticking to shelves... So many things could have gone wrong at any stage.

Amazing to see it last 50+ years.

What about building one out of Milliput. No shrinkage
That guitar is amazing! That is soooo hard to do. I have dabbled with Ceramic bodies but have been less than happy with my experiments.
