I'm sure there are a bunch of you folks that have a musical foundation in your occupation, but for the rest of us who do this purely as a hobby I'm curious what it is you do to pay for your CBG addiction.
Only fair that I start, I'm a director for a dental laboratory in Tarrytown, NY. I'm fortunate enough to work for a pair of owners that both play and collect guitars and allow me to use the very handy tools we have here for things other than teeth from time to time.

On a lighter note, I was a certified (not to be confused with certifiable) welder, metal fabricator, CNC machine operator, forklift operator, mechanic and everything else they could blame me for. LOL
I work for a wholesale electrical supply company. I work the counter, handle the freight, and do local deliveries in our van. My hours are set so I can be at every game, program, presentation etc that my kids have. Before that I spent 15 years with an orange box store. The guitars started as a whim, then got addictive. I sell a few to pay for the hobby. Would like to sell more but haven't tried a flea market or craft fair yet.
Like Wayfinder, I was able to retire from a programming and web development career fairly early.
I lost my hearing in my late thirties (long before I retired) and lost all interest in music for about 15 years. A couple of cochlear implants and steadily improving sound processing technology have made it possible for me to think about learning guitar. Of course its a bit of a gamble as I'm still a bit tone deaf so I didn't want to splash out on a guitar. Instead, I crept up on it by building and trying to play some cigar box guitars. A couple of months ago I finished a Telecaster copy so cigar boxes have taken a bit of a back seat recently while I try to work out how six stringers work.
Night job actually, RPSGT aka sleep lab technician Piedmont Hospital in Georgia
For the last 10 years I have worked for the same company as a tele-sales guy, selling tools, industrial equipment, machinery ,PPE etc .For nearly 20 years ,I worked for a similar company doing the job I do now, plus warehouse work, fork lift operator, trade counter assistant , delivery driver and had an extra job working for a charity for brain injured children .... previous for 2 years in a small co. as a warehouse/ counter sales guy and went to college and got some City & Guilds Engineering qualifications. Also did 2 weeks as a trainee butcher, 1 day selling fruit & veg and 1 day as a tyre fitter! Oh and several paper rounds as a kid :-)
Been mad about guitars since a very young kid after hearing my older Brother playing records and I would try to sing the guitar sounds, so I'm told, and was mad about his Marc Bolan posters with the Les Paul & Flying V apparently !
For the last 20+ years I've worked in the custom department in a plate glass tempering factory. I drill, cut and hand polish plate glass for custom cabinetry and doors. I spend all day wearing enough safety gear to make a medieval knight jealous.
: ) Hotter than hell in the summer. And because I work in a lot of water. Colder than hell in the winter. Covers all aspects of hell. Keeps ya healthy.
