It does remind me of the Progressive insurance TV ad where the announcer is saying "women don't have jobs" , except they are joking.

I see. So this was actually a brilliant add campaign.

First you set your demographic to only those who have wives.

Then you further narrow the field to only those who's wives will contact the advertiser.

Now everyone knows wives like to spend a lot of time with their husbands. Those who build CBG like to spend a lot of time in the shop. Thus having angry wives wanting to spend more time with their significant other. Who are not going to contact the advertiser.

Brilliant!!!!

it might have been better worded like tell your love ones,partner etc.

but honestly I dont see it as offensive some folks need to to move on and get this narrow vision out of their head.

if it has said tell your husband blah blah I wouldn't give it a second thought.

does it matter no.

Unfortunately, Yes, with this "old mind set", women are still being payed less money than men doing the same job.

Sorry, but things won't change unless you challenge careless, if well meaning, wording like this.  It's not really a matter of being offended, just nudging attitudes in the right direction when you have the opportunity.

Well, maybe I'm just old and sexist but I read it and didn't give it a second thought and I usually pick up on that kind of stuff. Sometimes I think political correctness has watered things down to absolute BLANDNESS - my tastebuds are old - they need spice.

I wrote and created the ad.  It was tongue-in-cheek.  Got lots of positive feedback.  It has been removed now.

Just added some new plans to the archives.

If it was meant to be tongue in cheek, it wasn't translating.
