Here are some pictures of the solid body electric uke I just finished. 1.5 inch thick mahogany body and hard maple neck with maple finger board. Bridge plate is made of brass with strat hard tail saddles mounted on it. the pickup is homemade and similar in design to a P-90 ( http://www.stewmac.com/tsarchive/ts0036.html ).

Here is a picture of the pickup by itself.
Looks really good. How does it play?
I'm not a player but will be in contact with one today at church. I think it sounds cool but nothing like an acoustic uke. I need to get some nut files to make a better nut for this.
After church my friend who gave me the lead on making this played it a little. Smiled the whole time and sounded great.
Very, very cool! I bet that's a kick to play!
What a cool idea! I made a (full size) tele last winter.... Maybe I should make a "little brother" for it also? Does it have a "uke" scale, and will you use standard "uke" tuning? Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for the compliments. It is concert scale with low G tuning (G,C,E,A), not the re-enterant (g,C,E,A) tuning like some acoustics). I also have built several full size teles and have a few to finish now.
Extremely nice looking little Tele. I know lots of guys on Ukulele Underground would love this.
Very nice work, Bruce. Cute little axe
Thank you.
This is awesome! Excellent job! I am going to have to try winding my own pick-up, now. Thanks for the incentive.
Just finished another one. A little better than the last one.
