Has anyone tried one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electric-Pre-Wired-Pickup-w-Volume-Tone-Pot...

Where there any problems with them?

CB Gitty, the host of this site, sells them in his store, so no need to wait for shipping from China. They work OK, but they obviously don't use top quality hardware. I have used them in the past, but the first thing I do is replace the output jack to something a bit sturdier.

They sound OK, but you have to watch for any bad solder joints.

What Dan said, and you should know they are the same size as the 6 pole pickups.

I have bought the six pole version from C. B. Gitty. Worked fine. Not the world's best pick up. Kind of a starter kit, but it gets the job done.
Are you having some problems with yours?

I don't have one just kind of liked the look and was seeing how they worked

I purchased this from CB Gitty and I believe the same as the one you posted.  It's ok.  I actually purchased the chrome one also and thought it was much nicer looking, only I had a fubar in the installation with a drill and loose wires so i had to use this as my back up.  I was happy with the sound, but the look is plasticy and kind of cheesy honestly.  Perhaps I'll figure out a better way to frame it than the attached plastic thingy.  I had trouble with feedback but it's because i messed with the grounding in the original soldering.  It still has a light buzz, but you know, I like a little buzz with my single coil.  dar!

Heres same pick up with six pole.

Now that i think about it, I did replace the jack because it looked really cheap.  That's where i messed up the ground, soldering the new jack.  Wish I hadn't messed up the chrome one.  The only issue i had was the placement of the pup.  I should have planned for the neck to be more recessed so i could show more of the pup above the soundboard.

You can always resolder it--the jack is not ruined because of a bad solder joint.

Just use it on the next build ;)

I have purchased several sets off ebay. Only used a couple so far. Sounds fine to me. One time I bought a set of 4 and with free shipping I only paid $22.00. Thats savings to me. Its a way to go for keeping costs down. You can spend more, but then you might as well go buy a new guitar in general. I mean theres making something cheap, and theres making good choices on low prices. If you plan on selling them you want to maximize your return. I don't put more than $20.00 worth of parts if I plan to see one at $100.00. Just covers your time in making them.

Nothing wrong with looking for a good deal, but.......
Most any cheap Chinese pickups are garbage! Not because tthey use sub-par components, but because there is NO quality control. You might be able to get away with using the included cheap output jack and pot--but 99.9% of the time, those pickups are microphonic--or will go microphonic quickly. This is the worst thing for a pickup, besides it showing up DOA.
Sure, you could just pot them in beeswax, but now we're getting away from the whole "good deal" scenario.

I'll always recommend spending an extra few bucks for higher quality...even in a CBG.

Used over  100 of those and no problems.
