i see we struck a nurve here, think thats what the writers from the article in the Washington Post Blog

were trying to do as well , by burning a fender stratocaster(exspensif article)as a mere backdrop for the statement about something thats not going on at all Nation & World wide ! maybee a drop in sales from the major USA brands but sales from the indipendent and smaller builders divelopers are up in a steady pase. this about the hero's is somewhat outdated, cose most heroes are dead anyway's, while there style & music live on. I see it more as ,grabbing a new stick to beat something that does not need beating, it just needs more love i think, so lets give em some more !

Thank you all for your responce and comments to the Video, much appriciated Build and play ON !

We're going to get into a huge rabbit hole here, but I don't think it has to do with the guitar specifically. I think it's about a constant drive to find "the best" in every category. It seems to dominate pop culture.

I mean... If you put John Lennon in a guitar contest today... he wouldn't even place. The guitar "heroes" of today play with incredible skill, staggering complexity, breakneck speed... and it is very impressive... but we don't connect to it. We are impressed for the duration of the the performance but we can't hum what we just heard. It doesn't get stuck in your head.

In contrast, BB King played 5 notes and changed the music industry. It was so simple... nobody has to explain it... you get it instantly. That's what makes a true "hero". It was never about how fast or how many notes... its about hitting you where you feel it. Alas, that isn't what "makes the news" anymore.

That’s because the new age is controlled by hype! Pop music is infecting the youth something awful. Hardly any creativity in digital music, it all sounds like the same song? However, if you keep rocking like that, we’ll be in good shape for years to come, long live the guitar!!!  :D
