Longest video in the world! I wanted to run the whole process start to finish though so you know theres no big secrets in cone spinning, its pretty straight forward stuff. Just be careful!

Great vid. Really useful. I might even give this a go myself, you make it look so easy.

Thanks Paul. Ideally you should be using a fully annealed alloy, preferably one that hardens as you work it. Theres more than a few that are suitable, but its all just numbers. 3003-O, 5052-0, 6061 and 7075 are good to start with.... apparently!
Jujus just got hold of some 1050 too which is meant to be about right too.
Thickness should be about 0.2mm to 0.3mm, give or take.

The stuff Im using clearly isnt any of these! lol Its kind of very thick aluminium foil. Pardon the slang - we call it 'tin foil' over here!

Really enjoyed the video. Looks like it is doable and fun. Not sure what to use as material, what is the correct material? Thanks for posting. Are those trays you are using really tin or aluminum?

Wow! Thanks guys! Ok, lot of questions there...

Ted: It doesnt sound good enough - Not yet anyway! Its a bit 'mute' - I suspect the ali is too thin, though Iv got plans to put a proper soundwell in the test rig, then maybe buy some proper alloy. Should be good to go then :o)

HB, Bone, Ottie: Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.

Mr Chickenbone: Why thank you! Those are the highest compliments where I come from :o) Glad you noticed I tidied up especially for the shoot. As for the safety gear, I did roll my sleeves up to reduce the risk of a snagging...

Randy: A tidy workshop is a sign that you have too much time on your hands :o)

Fernando, Tres: Thanks for your kind words - you can do it!

Don: Note health and safety grade wooly hat! Working on the sound quality as it has a way to go before its acceptable. I need to do some more research on reso set-ups.

Mark: Cheers!
