San Francisco Bay Blues

In a Old Hotel room in the middle of Downtown
San Francisco it's late evening Through the
open window the sounds and smell of the
city roll in.
A silhouette of a lone busker
plays an electric guitar through a battery
powered amp on the quiet street below. He
plays Jimi and Stevie songs with more soul
then they, but no money lies in his hat.
In the room they talk and life had changed,
He went knowing to well he would be injured,
but he had to go. He lays a piece of his
heart on the floor and walks out the door
down the elevator and on to the city streets.
He walks the streets until the bars close, numb lost and hopeless.
He returns to the room and takes the bed near
the window. Longing hoping praying.
This song always reminds me of that night.
