Great looking instrument and your play is the same, great.

in fact it balances almost perfectly as i put the headstock at the other end, so i quite like the heavy neck. as for working with it, i don't have to cut it at all, i just bought a stainless steel bar in the dimensions i required. it's also cheaper than aluminium i think

I would bet the neck is heavy what about aluminum stainless is so hard to work with.

sweet

it's a carved oak neck with a stainless steel fingerboard glued on with epoxy . i made it headless to balance it better as the fingerboard is very heavy

is just the fingerboard metal or the whole neck? it sounds bitchin'

Yeah, i make quite a lot of fretless cbgs to sell, but with the stainless steel fingerboard the sustain you get really makes it into something else. I play this one on a few songs with my band, hopefully we'll be recording some stuff with it soon.

i'm real interested in this, seen  a french made fretless being demonstrated , and i see incredible, opportunity, for expression, with this type of instrument  bending notes   up and down the neck, like a slide only without one.  very nice sound  from yours !!!
