yup  .. a  mag  pickup  will  read  the strings  right  through  the  lid  .  this  lid  is about  1/4  inch  thick  , as you  can  hear  , it  works fine  .  this  is a great  application  when  not  wanting to   ruin or interrupt  artwork on the  front  .

So the humbucker is totally under the lid? How far away from the strings?? Saw a guy tape on a Dean Acoustic pickup under a Banjo head....was so suprised it worked until now.
