I wasn't satisfied with the vocal to Swampy ratio on the first try. So here is another try, a 2 take wonder.

Matchbox Blues ~ by Blind Lemon Jefferson

I’m sitting here wondering will a matchbox hold my clothes. (x2)
I ain’t got so much to carry, but I got so far to go.

I wouldn’t mind marryin’. But I can’t stand settling down. (x2)
Gonna make like a preacher... Roam from town to town.

I got a girl cross’ town but all she do is coochie around. (x2)
She don’t stop coochin’... I’m leavin’ town.

I’ll leavin' this town and her crying won’t make me stay. (x2)
The more she cry, the more she drive me away. (x2)

How far to the river? Wanna walk down by the sea. (x2)
Tadpole and minnows... all over me.

Thanks, Dog.  That verse thing is (I think) all on the open, magic third, 5th and 7th spots -and not too busy since all I use is my thumb.  Yup, on the Swampy and the low end it projects.  They are fantastic plugged in fretless 3s.  On the other hand, I sometimes wish for a fretted 3 or 4 string swampy.  I have an LPG fretless 4 that has a lot of that swampy sound.  I sometimes wish it had frets too, just for versatility.

Clock, good to see you, my friend.  Don't be hogging the popcorn.

coming from rock guitar my finger picking is atrocious, I would love to learn that verse riff you do in this song

love it bro... I have the same issue with my swamp witch... she is just a guitar that wants to sing, especially on the low end.  I tend to edit it down a bit but wouldnt change a thing about her

Thanks a lot, Doc!

Your best yet! Swampwitch sounding good too. Thanks for posting it makes for a good lesson.

Erasmo, you are exactly right.  I think the battered Kodak Easy Share camera that I use is adequate and easy for simple videos, but lacking for a good audio recording.  But I like to keep things simple. I briefly had some better recording equipment and discovered I did not like messing with it.

Thanks for your suggestion, Richard.  But that's what the stop button is for.  Or just crank up the volume to eleven and go make your sandwich and do your business.

I lost my spring chicken status a while back Uncle. For these longer songs, may I suggest an intermission for refreshments and bathroom break. Your consideration is very appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks, Pick.  This is maybe the longest I have done at 3:43.   I've had a lot of songs go under 2 minutes.
