Hi Jim, lovely warm tone from that!

Are there just some standard pickups under the nails?

I recognise that bark. Pretty sure it is a large Elder which develops that corky, braided rope appearance. Just be glad it's not Yew. A lovely wood but it make unpleasant, poisonous (!) sawdust.
