I was so shocked to see that Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of The Cranberries, passed away today at only 46. I've listened to her sing for countless hours on repeat. The Cranberries hit BIG while I was in high school, and I loved them! Last summer I put Linger on a list of songs I wanted to learn on cigar box guitar. In tribute to Dolores, today I learned it. This is a quick cell phone recording with no bells and whistles. I had to modify the intro and outro to make it work on CBG. I have no delusions about having a wonderful singing voice, but this is me with what I got goin' on today enjoying making music with a guitar I built. Thank you Dolores O'Riordan for sharing your music with the world! You brightened my days. I'm sad you are gone.

Derek - thank you. Their music is so uniquely layered. It stands the test of time with Dolores's beautiful vocals out front. It's sad she's gone. :(

Thanks Richard! I have so many memories with Cranberries songs intertwined in them too.

Rev Bluejeans, thank you.

Great version of this song, Janis. I love the Cranberries because of her primarily and so sad she won't be making more music.

Darryl, thank you! I really appreciate your kind words. I'm very shy about singing. But I've sang along to this song 100's of times. I've always loved it.

Hi Milt! Thank you. This was open G tuning (low to high G, D, G, B) I was playing the D like a truncated version of a 6 string D, and I added in 3rd fret on the B string for the open G chord.
