thanks, it's my buddy Christoph who is testing it. He is also into building homemade instruments, but he prefers playing them rather than tinkering ;-)

Very nice! I'm with you in disregarding all the "major importance" items. The nice thing about making these is having the liberty to thumb your nose at the experts and just do it. There will be some that don't turn out so good but it's all about experimenting and coming up with something fun and different. Very good playing on a good looking and sounding fiddle.

yes Crimson, go ahead :-) What they really seem to like about violin making on the internet is pointing out "the major importance of anything". They refer to it in any detail... sound post ("major importance"), shape ("major importance"), wood ("major importance"), grain direction ("major importance"), ... anything else ("major importance")

In my opinion the most important thing is to give it a try :-)
