James DGBE is what I play most on my big box and CBG fours.  So versatile.  And sometimes I feel like a little sliding and make the small change to DGBD.

Thanks kirk this is standard tuning minus the top 2 bass strings works great for playing full chords on a 4 string .

Thanks Andries this is standard tuning except you don't use the top 2 bass strings 5th A and 6th E on a 4 string. tab should be read E 1st B 2nd G 3rd D 3rd

Thanks Jim the correct way to read tablature is from 1st string is the smallest string bottom to top EBGDAE on 4 string you don't have the EB bass strings these are all full 4 string chords to play the minors you just lower the 3rd note in the chord. you can play all 12 keys like this. Hope this helps clarify the tuning which is standard for a 6 string. on a 4 you don't used the top 5th or 6th bass strings.

Good info James O. It might clarify things if you gave the tuning from low string to high string.which is how most folks red it. So, if I'm not mistaken, this is DGbe from low to high.
