For What It's Worth (recorded at The National Vietnam War Museum)

I decided to do a classic 1960s tune from The National Vietnam War Museum this week. This song, originally recorded by Buffalo Springfield in 1966, became associated with the time period and later with protests in general. This was the first take and my timing was a little bit squirrelly but I really liked the spoken part at the end. That wasn't planned.

"Well Done Poorness" one of many songs that relates back to the 60's/70's, Australia like the US treated their Vietnam Vets very poorly on their return home, and wasn't rectified until 1987, when they were finally recognised with a Welcome Home Parade / Day, which took place in Sydney Australia, and the Government started to look after their Vietnam Vets a lot better, with Health Support and more substantial Pensions etc. :-)

Thanks Doug and I completely agree. I've studied the Vietnam Conflict and it was very unusual how the vets were treated when they returned home. It made me really sad to learn all that. Maybe that's one reason I'm so happy to say thank you.

Great choice for a song Kale! And well played as always. It’s one the Slingers did recently.

Kudos for talking to the Vietnam Vet and listening to his story; unfortunately, we didn’t treat our returning vets well as a nation. I think we have finally learned as a nation to distinguish between those who are serving our country and are in harms way and those who are responsible for sending them there and direct our attention accordingly. I’m retired Air Force by the way.

Thanks Rope. I've already got the next one planned but I'm not saying anything just yet. :-)
