You could build a baritone uke. I read that it uses the upper 4 strings of a guitar, and you can use the guitar chords.

Thanks for the kind words. I've got a couple a dozen CBGs under my belt and I thought I'd try building a uke. You're right about the longer neck uncle john, I need one that's easier to play. I am a guitar player, but the uke is all about the strumming hand. Anyway, I kinda like crooning the mrs. She's gonna lock me out if she hears Babyface one more time.

Nice uke, Doc.  Doing good on it.   Now you need to build a concert or tenor size for deeper tone and a bit easier playng.   It never stops!

If they could play the Uke they would not annoy them. I think they are the best first fret instrument to build. cool
