Test go at direct recording into the tablet using an IRig 2 interface. Short (apologies for that) but what do y’all think quality wise?

That’s the one Andries. Tonebridge which is the app I use has the same album or song art on the stomp box pedal. I love it. Lots of amazing things that these young ‘uns are using nowadays. Only problem is keeping up with them! Haha.

I like the sound of needing this Slowpaw Bear on every programme. My fee is £25,000 per appearance haha. I only need one payment and I could make it set me up for the rest of my life. Frugal is definitely my nature.

Thanks again for your kind words my good chap. Much appreciated.

Thanks Bear i had a look on youtube its a crafty little divice ,allmost plugin everyware ! saw a guy cald Marty Zwarts he is a guitar guy on the tube he showed a free app as well and that looks like a game changer you got the visuals of a stompbox whit the picture on it from the record the sound and artist its from you get a demo and tabs its crazy plug in anything and sound like who ever and bee the greatest, but you need those tree things Irig Ipad & Tonebridge to do it , if you go on like this you be on britan'sgot talent and every BBC show will want Slowhand Bear on the Show !! i say go for it !! its state of the art stuff !

Thanks for your kind words, Andries.

No there are hundreds, if not thousands, of preset tones and each one can be adjusted to how you’d like it to sound. I haven’t gotten deep down into the app yet but I think you can choose how much of each pedal in that setting’s chain you want to hear or don’t want to hear. Really good app and it’s not the only app choice there is either.

I have a small collection of favourites saved already from artists like Gregg Almann, Gary Cooper, Joe Bonamasa right through to Bob Dylan and Dire Straits.

Definitely on my recommendation list.

Thanks again for your kind words and I’ll add something a little longer next time.

Thanks Dave.

The IRig 2 allows me to connect a guitar to my iPad and get hundreds if not thousands of different tones from an app called ”Tonebridge” for free. The tone I used on this recording was from a Gregg Allman setting (quite minimalist so we get to hear the guitar tone more).

The connections, or “signal chain” if you like, is guitar into the guitar input socket of the IRig 2, input from the IRig 2 into the ipad then output either to the headphone output of the IRig 2 or the amp out port where the signal runs from guitar, through the tablet to pick up the tone then finishing at a guitar amp.

Sounds complicated maybe but

To play with headphones you just need: The IRig 2, an iPad (or android tablet from Samsung) running the free app “Tonebridge”, a guitar lead and headphones.

To play through an amp you just need: The IRig 2, an iPad (or android tablet from Samsung) running the free app “Tonebridge”, a guitar lead into the IRig 2 and a guitar lead out of to your amp.

Basically, to explain it another way, an IRig 2 allows you to use your iPad (or Samsung tablet) as an unlimited number of guitar effects pedals.

I really recommend them and love the variety of tones I can get. The IRig 2 works better on iPad I would say though because there’s hardly any lagging between hearing what you play when you play it. I know some people (through research and reading reviews) CAN get some disturbing lag where they play a note but they don’t hear that note through the amp or headphones for as much as a second or two. Put it short, use the IRig 2 with an iPad to be on the safe side.

Final bit of info I’ve got, the recording app I used (on the same iPad as I was using for my tone) is called “IRig Recorder” and is free to use too, though if you pay then you can unlock a few different editing features for the sound. Also (for free) you can record audio visual (videos) or just audio.

Hope that answers the question Dave? Let me know if you have any more questions and I’ll try to answer if I can.

Thanks again for your kind words.
