I'm still alive and well, not sure who wrote this it's been played by everyone including The Dead.
I first heard this song from Muleskinner on the record Muleskinner.
A very cool group of bluegrass guys that include Clarence White;Peter Rowan:Bill Keith;Richard Greene;David Grisman.
There used to be a great video of Tony Rice showing how he plays this on youtube, that anybody who wants to learn bluegrass rhthym should watch. He has some amazing lessons on youtube!!!

That's excellent RTZ! I recently taught In My Hour of Darkness to a friend so we could do it at an upcoming gig and was thinkin' about Clarence White and how he and a handful of others back then made Bluegrass seem a lot cooler to many of us.
They were like the Outlaw Country guys, they broke tradition and people said yes we like that. My favorites were Haggard for putting swing into country when they didn't want it and Van Zandt for songs for the bungled and botched.
Bluegrass and Folk will always be the minority of music.
Thanks James
Back for more Muleskinner. I discovered bluegrass through Old and In the Way, but Muleskinner came first. Got me thinking that if it weren't for these guys and the Newgrass movement in general, bluegrass might have just faded away. Bill Monroe is known for being a traditionalist as he should, but he should also be given credit for having Rowan, Greene and Keith in his band. Those damn hippies kept it going for decades to come.
Nice RTZ sounds Great Man
Thanks man.
White died on July 14, 1973 after being struck by a drunk driver. The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m., while he and his brother Roland were loading equipment into their car in Palmdale, California, following a spur-of-the-moment reunion gig of the Colonels. Especially shaken by his death was Gram Parsons, who would lead a singalong of "Farther Along" at the funeral service and conceive his final song before his own death, "In My Hour of Darkness", as a partial tribute to White.
Clarence White was survived by his brothers Roland and Eric and sisters JoAnne and Rosemarie, and his one daughter, Michelle
Nice! Good timing, I've been listening to a lot of Muleskinner/Clarence/The Byrds this week. He is under appreciated.

Thanks john, wish I could expand it but not there yet. I like all Dwight's covers maybe I'll do Streets of Bakersfield soon. I have some 6 string project I have to do but i'll keep posting.
