After my Bum ditty for Uncle John video I got some questions about using clawhammer on instruments other than banjo. So here it is on 3 strings.

Real nice Jim.  Clawhammer is one of the hardest things in the world to explain and learn, but once you get it down it stays with you forever.

The Clawhammer Master Strikes again !! Great stuff there Jim, Sounding great, once more if i got it right,on the down stroke the claw picks any given string, on the updraw you strum them all, and at the same time, you dampen every strum whit your thumb?can i ask for a other camera position maybee from untherneath, so you can see the pulling and the stroke,or close up right in there, but thats to much to ask sorry,To much words Wes will say!!SorrySounds greaton the C box aswell, greeetssszzz

Ha Unc - hobo song! I like hobo songs. Just like anything, you start her off nice and slow and then gradually build it up.

Shoot, I forgot to put your name in the title. I always get into top content when the words Uncle John are in there!

Thanks Bruce. I can never decide what I like doing the most so I try to fiddle and banjo about equally. 3 string comes in third but I love it too!

Jim, two weeks ago I thought a bum ditty was a hobo song.   Man, I hope I can learn this.   It's like back when I first started.  I can not sing and bum ditty at the same time.

You dang show off!    That is excellent.   Working on the bum ditt tee is certainly worth while.   I like that box scratch sound too.   Very good and thanks for the teaching vids.

Great job, Jim.  I love to play to play clawhammer, but I don't have a cigar box set up for it yet.  You just helped me decide what to build next. Thanks!

P.S. I saw a video of you playing a cigar box fiddle here on the CBN. That was very good too.
