Original by me. I got the inspiration for the song from a youtube video by Melissa Carper, a wonderful singer/musician/song writer. Check out her music on youtube.

Thanks, Andries.  Fresh but nostalgic.  That would be a good combination.  Well said.

Thanks, Dave.  I tried it on a nice 3 string, but the bigger box 4 rang out better.

Thanks, Kale.  How are things down in the heart of Texas?

Good one Unc. I like the turn around and old time feel. That guitar is swell.

Thanks, Alan.  Yup, Melissa plays with a lot of really good players and singers and I like the songs she does and writes.  She found my youtube version of this and had nice things to say...

I agree to liking Melissa and Sierra better than the top 40 folks.  More real and authentic and honest.

One more new on for you.  Check out a guy from the UK named Joe Strouzer.

"Brilliant UJ", your best bit of song writing to date, and of course. a fine strong performance of the aptly named, "Broke Down Old Cowboy" :D

Just checked out Melissa on Utube, and the first one that popped up featured our sweetheart, Sierra Ferrell, also listened to a few others, and like Sierra, am now a confirmed fan of Melissa Carper, and one could be excused for thinking that they are sisters, or somehow related, because to my mind, their singing styles and looks are eerily similar, to say the least, both are far better to listen to, than the current crop of so called "New Age Country" singers. :-) :-)

Thanks, Belinda.  I am too old and wimpy to be a real cowboy!  But I do like cowboy stuff.

Thanks, Doug!   Wow you stayed to the end and saw the bonus pics!  That puts you into the lucky door prize drawing!
