Thanks Klaatu, that 2nd excerpt is all mag pickup, probably a blend between the front lipstick and back single coil. I got the idea from someone here for hiding the 6-pole single coil under the lid and mounting a thin piece of ferrous metal across the poles. It works really well. I personally don't like seeing 6 poles on a guitar with less than six strings - just too obvious it is mismatched, at least to my eyes. I have some mini humbuckers with covers that I will use on some heavy boxes next year, and won't have to hide them since you can't see the poles anyway.
