Yeah Eric. I usually go out to my garage/workshop but there's no heat so in the winter I'm inside and I get on her nerves the most.

I had secured myself in the basement to play and practice.  I'd still get yelled at when plugging in and turning the amps on.

I must be getting better because I brought the dobro up to my office and play intermittently while doing my college coursework.  No complaints.  Much.

Ha! Weirdo even by CBN standards. That's pretty far on the weird scale. Actually, my wife prefers my air banjo playing over my actual banjo playing! I'm working on a banjo now with a solid wood (pine) body to cut down on the volume so I can practice without her yelling.

Cool Eric, seems like it would be a real rythmic pattern. I just tried it out on air banjo and I think it would work on lots of songs. I think it would work with the up pick with all 3 fingers for a chord as well. Gotta try it with an instrument in my hands!

I got another variation Jim.  In this one I thumb the bass note on the quarter then I punch my 3 fingers into the stack of 5 strings so I get a strike and immediate mute.  Then as I exit, I sorta choose which finger gets the up pick.  Pretty cool sound.  I'll have to demo it in a video.

It works well the way I do "You Are My Sunshine".  I'll have to check it for another new song or one I haven't done in awhile.

Yeah, it certainly has the same rythmic feel as clawhammer. I tried that on banjo and decided it sounds much cooler on guitar with that low note happening on the downbeat. Nothin' wrong with singing - it fits that mournful minor key.
