Thanks for the kind words of encouragement Derek. Yes, definitely really happy with how the build turned out. More than a little surprised by the acoustic volume too.

Not sure I'd feel comfortable going up any further than open G. I could try a similar DADdad but I'd be worried about the structural integrity of the dog bowl even at open tuning pressures. Currently, to counteract the pressures, I've got the low E string (D in normal open G) tuned to another B to make two b's, two g's and two d's. Unfortunately everything hangs, structurally anyway, on what is after all just a very flimsy dog bowl.

I'm learning my first song while building two other guitars right now and played a little at the end of this video. It's When the Levee Breaks but the Led Zeppelin version. Should be played in open F so I'll be dropping down to that for the next video. I would like to play around with different tunings more though. Thanks again and glad you liked it.

Thanks Pick. Now go stand in the corner with your crude words! Had us both literally laughing so we'll have to go to a corner too. Funny stuff.

You are sounding damn good with that slide work Bear! Build looks awesome and sounds mighty fine acoustically and amped. That tuning Andries recommends is the one that Joe Walsh uses for slide.

Definitely Wes!

Thanks Shane. That means a lot to me coming from a master craftsman of resonators like yourself. Glad that you like it.

Thanks Jim, thanks Wes. Glad that you both liked it. I'm loving building and playing more than ever. If I have one complaint it's that I enjoy this lark so much that I've become very one dimensional. Still, there are much worse things than music and instrument making to be hooked on!
