Hi Darren.This one has solid board:) I made this guitar to play amplified only but you can put hollow box under so it will resonate as Roy suggested.

Typically, the box is hollow under the plate. That way, the plate can resonate.

I'm unclear about license plate guitars. Is the box hollow under the plate? Or is it just a solid board with spots routered out for the pickups/wiring?
