Cheap fuel and fast women also  StorminSteve ha! Looked up some statistics, I was kinda surprised! In 2010 there was over one billion vehicles worldwide. In 1940 a Chrysler New Yorker cost $1385, a Dodge D17 $755, and a Plymouth Roadking $645. Here’s where I was surprised: US sales of automobiles in 1951  5 million, and in 2017 7 million. In the 70’s and 80’s many years over 11 million. A hundred years is a long time, except in history it’s a blink of an eye. Great comments SS, thank you!

Thanks A.D! I can’t place Woltman, maybe before my time here! He must of been a genius, a fantastic composer haha! Thanks for the compliment, I’ll track him down. Vroom to the future.

Coyote Looking for you you rascally roadrunner Pick!  Traffic has its own orchestrated music of horns, sirens, brakes, and happy finger throwers. I’m moving, thanks Pick!

Yes James, as Uncle will remember ha, the 1950-60’s car models seemed to change every year, and not just subtle changes. Big cars, big chrome, big engines, and gas about 25 cents a gallon. I’ve driven in crowded stop and go traffic most of my work career, one place to me holds the record for the worst place on earth to drive, San Francisco! Thanks James, stay away from Atlanta at four in the afternoon!

Yeah Snuffy, you make a good point! I grew up in the 1950’s & 60’s, full of  optimism, care-free  enthusiasm, and lots of dreams! Most of American history is fantastic,  needs to be taught once again in schools. Really appreciate your nice comments, thanks!
