Well YB I always aim to please! Glad it brought a smile to your face.
Sleaford is quite a way from good old west yorkshire, but you never now our paths may cross someday. I have a friend who lives in Grantham who builds mandolins and makes handmade pickups. I went to see his collection when I started building my Les Paul Jr mandolin, I will post photos when it is finished. I really must get round to building a CBG at some point.Lol
Smojo has just cut me some wood for the neck so i can get started. Just going to make a real simple one, basic as can be.
Lovely chatting to you

Hi there,
I really enjoyed your greeting of 'honey'. It's been a long time (and my choice) since anyone called me that. Thank you.
If you mean cigar box gigs, a don't really play much, just the occasional open mic session in and around where I live, although I might do a bit of busking this year as my damaged knee does not seem to want to heal so cycling looks a bit suspect again this year.
Should you mean the ukulele orchestra, if you type in www.sleafordukuleleorchestra.co.uk it'll give you all the dates coming up. At the moment virtually all the gigs are in the Lincolnshire area. There should be a couple of music tracks on the facebook bit. Check out the photos, especially the new publicity shot for this year. The photo was takes on Saturday when we were shooting a video to go with the Dr Jazz piece on the site. It's supposed to be 1920 so dont think that Lincolnshire is still behind the times.
Hi there Ani,
thanks for taking the time to vote for my humble skip surfer special and for passing me your appreciated comments. Busy getting ready for the new ukulele season (lots of gigs booked for 2010) and open mic sessions for the cigar box guitars.
Only just noticed your comment - nice one. Been really busy with my band recently - played at the Adam and Eve the other weekend. Perhaps get back to more primal things in the New Year. Have a good Christmas. Nice photos by the way.
Dom
We don't have a website, but there's a Shambolics Fan Club on Facebook.
I played an open mic night a few years ago at the Drill Hall - very serious. It was awful. If I get time to rehearse some solo stuff, I'd like to play a few more - but maybe more chilled ones. I think there are a few pub-based ones in Lincoln.
Where do you play at open mic nights? I'd like to come and hear you. With a little organised practice, I could play as well.
I play in a rock band - The Shambolics. We've played a few local venues. I'm trying to work on a song where I can use a CBG!
I've made 4 CBGs to date - the latest being a reso using a uke cone. My next will be a tricone using small cat food tins! I just need to find a 3 pronged bridge/spider.
hey flatt. i like your sounds. would like to add one to " sounds of the nation" check it out and let me know if you are interested.

Hey there, Yellowbelly.
Sorry to hear of the injury which I hope is but temporary. Getting behind on sleep stinks though if a person can at least use the time for something worthwhile maybe it can help distract the mind's attention from the body's irritation.
My dulcimer's are of a design intended to be sturdy & constructed by 13 year-olds w/ limited and simple (safe as possible) tools... so not much fancy going on. They do play though.
Hope you're mending quickly. Bart
Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
Wow! Uke prom, sounds fab. We have 4 ukes at the moment but could do with a concert sized on so can use capo.
We have very big hills round here =) I have even riden around the yorkshire dales off road on SS. I really does make a big difference to fitness inc upper body! I used to have a On One SS but I swaped it for a double bass, It's really cool but not as quick up hills. lol
