Well im glad you liked it :) Elenor is such a terribly sad song, a really profound blues. I had wanted to bring it into a new age, new pressures.. at first I was thinking.. 'the internet..' of course, where do all the lonely ppl belong?? thort id have chat room bleeps, maybe some cigar nation chatty bleeps, facebook ones etc.. well then Merle and cris got involved, merle did a couple guitar parts and a couple vocal parts, he was kinda drunk when he did the first and he hastily sent another but i really liked the sloppy timing.. Cris took it off in his own way too and it was all really chaotic.. but i figured well why would lonely people have any sort of cohesion anyway? its every man for himself, right ?
the crazy old lady sample fell into my lap, then the sermon I had there only took an hour or two to fit perfect..
I did one guitar track which i subsequently doubled and two vocal tracks, all on garage band on my ipad. i did the vocals out in my truck cos its noisy in my house, i have children. Im not terribly happy with the mix for the first 40 seconds or so to be honest, i kinda rushed it. anyway thank you again for your kind words, hopefully we can swap some tracks at some point if you like :)

๏_๏ oh my! say it ain't so! (°_o)
have another...
James, I am a newbie, and know little more than what I have read. I am interested in recording and have recently read quite a bit on the subject.
At the entry level, the Shure SM 57 & 58 are the standards to which all others may be judged.
Behringer makes an XM8500.
GLS makes the ES57 & 58.
If you wish to use a condenser microphone, the Behringer C-1 is available.
If I were to begin searching for a microphone, the above selection is where I would begin.
As one fellow has declared, any microphone is good until you discover a better one!
Which pretty much means there is a good probability you will grow out of an entry level microphone. :-)
Best
