I received my new blue pinkys and as always they work brilliantly. I am really loving the size and feel of the pinky slides and the artwork only adds to the greatness. Thank you again Dave for feeding my ceramic habbit :)
Dave, thanks for getting back so soon! I can't even find anyway to see the message I sent! The 3/4" ID is probably key; the length isn't so critical. 1 7/8" plus or minus should be fine! The intense red sounds great - I'll let you choose which one to accompany it (I'll only use one at a time, so complementary colors aren't important! ;-) One might end up being a gift. Don't make anything special for me; 1 1/2" seems kinda short in retrospect. Here's my email address for paypal: g.wooten.echelon@gmail.com (The other gary.wooten10 should work but perhaps not with paypal.) Shipping to my office is easiest for me - 13901 N. Harvey Ave, Edmond OK 73013. Let me know, and I'm looking forward trying them out!
Sorry it's taken so long to pay for the two slides you sent. I have the money in an addressed envelope and am sending enough for 2 pinky slides as well as the $20 I already owe you
Not realy No, to bee treu, i made this one about 30 years or so ago ,play it like a drum ,whit lots of stompboxes and rhythmsticks, i did not enter in the contest because i simply forgot about it! Nice inlay on your Uke,s by the way ,so you are more a Lapsteel guy is it? that old splotshy Top must bee a great player, thanks for the look at your pictures ! Greetsszzzz A.D. NORMA!!!!
Dave, sorry for the lousy pic....I don't know if I will ever get that right. I had to let that thing set out in the hot New Mexico sun for awhile, to cure it down, then did a little pruning, strung it, and it holds tune really well. Plugged in, ad a chorus, or maybe some delay, and it is wild.............Dawg
Heck, we really never had dance halls as such here, and I was gigging by the age of 15 or so.....I was the wierd kid playing with bottlenecks and stuff early on, until Johnny Winter, Duane Allman, Ry Cooder, et.al came along, then I was in big demand.....however, I have all my Dad's Bob Wills vinyl some still in the plastic....don't you know I am gonna have a ball with that!
Nice Dave! You know, about more years ago than I care to mention haha, I bought 2 Rickenbakers from some dude back in the 70's when they were smelly old pieces of crap, and nobody wanted them for 5 bucks apiece! One was M.O.P, the other polished steel. I gave them to my cousin, now he won't give'em back! I cannot tell you how hurt I am about that! Great buy, Dave, I hope you have fun. I sold a 1940 Oahu mahogany about 4 years ago, and the dude that bought it really knew how to do it. He did show me some stuff, and it did help a lot. Hard to change from these type to pedal steel....I do some juggling.............lot's of luck on that Epi, Dave!
Dave, sorry for the late gettin' back! I hear you man, I used to sell the Honeytones in my store, couldn't keep enough! They went like hotcakes.....built a couple laps out of cedar, will post to you later....already have one up in North Carolina,..went fast! Could this be a good omen?
Thanks Dave! I think I will take a break from buying for now I have 8 of your slides as of right now but I will be buying more down the road. I love the open ended pinky slide so if you do make more of them then I would love some. I am spreading the word of your work and will hopefully be getting you some more business :)
Hi Dave! Got my slides today and I was blown away before I even opened the package :) Thank you for the drawing, I am definitely hanging this up on my wall. The slides look and sound great as always, Another great batch. One question, I was wondering if it was okay if I paid you next week? I get paid every two weeks. Again thank you for an amazing batch of slides and an awesome picture.
I can see a 3/4 ID x 1 1/2 in long would make a perfect short pinky slide. At least that would be for me. I have a friend that would need all of the one inch ID. I have a 2 inch Joe Perry slide with a 5/8 ID that's just a little long and a little small but I love it. I also have a Blues Bottle med style bottle slide, but it collects moisture really bad. Then the Hall Pyrex is 1.25 inch long. Just a little short to span all 3 strings easily but good for single string use. I just bought a Pork Knuckle with vented ribbing inside. It fits my ring finger well but is 2 3/4" long. Big and heavy
I am going to try that.......I got tied up, and had to do stuff for Mama.......you know how that goes.........I'll let you know........I think ground also.....we shall see.
Hi Dave, hope this is connected to my last message. I would like to buy one of your slides, multi colored with some blue in it, open ended, medium size I think.
Sorry about that, Dave! I will get them out to you separate or something......I will figure it out at some point for sure! Keep a plantin and buildin.......meanwhile, I have built a steel out of N.M. cedar I can't wait for you to see.....I need your input and most of all you blessing on this one buddy! I will get it to you somehow!
