Thank you John for your reply. This is certainly the beauty of applying open tuning. If you understand the string relationships, it doesn't matter how many strings on the guitar...I am not sure if you are aware of this, but there is an Open C Tuning (CGCGCE / 151513) that is different than Open D just tuned down a whole step to C.
The first three highest strings CGC(GCE) / 513 have the same string realtionship as the CD 6 Moveable Chord Method: ADF# / 513. Of course the chord names change because we are in the key of C instead of D, but the approach is exactly the same. Additionally, the bass CGC is the same 151 as GDG tuning. If I ever get time, I want to explore this tuning in depth. Fasinating stuff. Enjoy.

Thanks for the comment . You are too kind . I just gave that pickup another try . It's really weak . The hum you hear in the video is made by the pickup ,but only when sound is made . ? I may post some pictures on how I made it . Maybe someone with better pickup making skills would have better results .
Great, looking forward to 'Skyping'. Milva can relate the 'Bow Story'! B-) ...
... Hi John. Thanks for your referral to Restalls. He verified authenticity of broken and replacement bows and insurance covered it. Replacement is by same maker and is a lovely bow, practically plays itself. If only! Need to tether bow to my arm. Too much drama. Also bought a cheap and cheerful chinese bow from Restall to take on road trips. It's a perambuco/carbon fibre laminate. Crazy, but it's quite a good bow. x M
Great question, but basically you answered it yourself. LOL Yes, if it sounds good having the higher and lower parts, they will add variation and interest. In open tuning, arranging in the tuning key is usually easiest, but also arranging in the fifth tone, works out well too. Key of G 3 chords (G,C,D) Key of the fifth is D (D, G, A). To get the A, bar across the second fret. having the G (4th tone) open makes for some interesting arranging. This is a good Blue player's secret. Happy Holidays. Enjoy.
Yes, that is certainly different. Actually it seems a little more difficult because the melody line is not so easily defined. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.
