Great to meet you, you are the closest member ive met from CBN as well. I see you play drums, I play blues harp primarily. Maybe we can get together and jam sometime? At least maybe we can get together and compare notes.

Best regards,

Chuck

If you're working on another ten you had better step up your rack production !

You're about these boxes, though I did have one with an MDF top so that one is just electric

Hi! Thanks for your friendship! The Gold box does have a thin top. I planned saving that for one that I was going to build for myself. It is nice to know that it will be a good sounding box.

Take care,

  Tony

Hippy - "welcome to our addiction!!! I built my first one in may of 2011, and now I have 25 of them in my house--and I have sold/gifted about a half dozen or so--and I have about 50 more boxes on the shelf"

Thanks Hippy Chip! Ya I see large quantities in my future... I HOPE! Dude, Boxes are hard to come by up here in Woodhull for some reason. I've only got 3 other boxes and been looking for more at cigar shops, friends, etc... I'll find a gold mine soon!

You are absolutely correct about the placement of the bridge. But, when I make a particular instrument that I know is destined to be a primarily amplified instrument, I like to place the bridge somewhat closer to the tailpiece for cosmetic reasons.

my first build was a three string with a tin can body tuned to the bottom three on a traditional six string. I have four more boxes and wood for either one guitar neck or three uke necks. The local convenience store has agreed to give me their  boxes
