Laurie, I am deeply sorry for your loss. My mom is 86, in failing health and in a nursing home. We are as close as one can get, and soon, I will be feeling what you are. Know that you have many friends, and I'm just one more.

That is my second favorie video, as much for your vocals, which sound fine to me, and the unique chord structure. You and I are living parallel lives, Our folks to care for, tax time, not enough time to play and build these things.....check out my website www.barryevanruss.com to see what pays my rent. If I could, I'd build wierd instruments all day long but the Powerball is eluding me....later

Hi Laurie,
if you know how to play on a regular 6 string guitar you should easily master a few chords on a baritone uke . (tuning DGBE, like the 4 bottom strings of a guitar).
I have a lot of ukes but no baritone ; will have to catch up asap. yes i saw the you tube video : very nice Martin baritone( and quite expensive too ) , I also saw the site but i have to be reasonable ( i'm waiting to receive some instruments in the next weeks, also a CGB tenor ukelele). Think I'll have to make a break for a while ...or try building some myself. + i don't have to forget to spend enough time practising & playing!!!
all the best
Sacha

Laurie,

For incredible pickups that won't destroy your pocket book, go to GuitarFetish.com and check out their line of GFS pickups. I use these in my guitars almost exclusively unless the customer requests something else.

Laurie Lee: I just checked out your 'Father Time' video. You do a good job playing the flat CBG. You've probably heard this before, but you sound very much like Natalie Cole . . . especially her rendition of 'Straigten Up and Do Right' . . . take a listen and tell me iff I'm nuts. Have a great day. Jess

Thanks Laurie,
CGB are not so well known in France( went to different guitar shops and luthiers in Paris, they didn't knew what a CGB is!!). ukuleles are becoming more and more popular in France these days.
at the moment I'm purchasing some instruments from Daddy mojo & back porch mojo( 3 & 4 strings at the moment).
Don't think i'm able to build some yet (always had problems to set up action and intonation on my string instruments) but i surely should make a try in the future.
all the best
Sacha
