Hey Myke...Thanks for the response. The Roland VS2480 is a fine machine. Not all that many folks recording on stand alones anymore...but i'm also one. I use a Boss BR1200Cd. I own no recording software. I've dabbled with Audacity but my Boss can do all the same stuff. I'm burned out on techy learning curves and dread ever having to move to a software based DAW...but there are clearly advantages there. Collaborations, for one. I have never connected my PC to my Boss...so everything gets done via CDRW's. Time consuming but it works and over the years I've done a dozen collabs or so. I see you are also a multi-instrumentalist. I guess us home based "Indie" guys have to be. You did a great job with the dobro on the songs I listened to. Who did the fiddle parts? Your builds are also impressive. That mando is awesome. I count at least 15. I've only done one, the "Buzzsaw"..a solid maple bodied electric with troubled intonation. I need another instrument like a hole in the head but i'd love an electric CBG. For some reason, instrument building is still intimidating to me, even tho I built my own house and barn and do rustic furniture and woodturning. Anyway, I think a collab might be fun if the song is right. Thanks for the offer...and it goes both ways. I do mostly all originals and have recorded songs in every genre from A-Z. My whole catalog is here:

The "Pinecats" are my virtual band  :-)) Mostly just me.

Stay in touch and feel free to share your thoughts and music.

cheers!

i wrote the ballad of RGR for my good friend Rolf G. Riley, a cycling fanatic

from England. he recently came to the US and rode his Shinto (a brand of bicycle)

from Portland Oregon to Washington D.C. a really inspiring challenge to me. so i

had to pay homage to my friend in song. hope ya'all enjoy.  Myke
