Uncle, we played from about 10am till 6:30pm. At the breakfast, then outside at the Battle, then inside on stage to compete. I,m played out but on happy guy. The bands were fabulous. Up here in Duluth, jug bands bring out the homemade guits. CBGs haven,t haven,t hit our scene quite yet but jug bands are well established. There are battles all over Minnesota. Fun stuff.

LOL, RTZ.   I'm one of the other guys.

Oh, gees, Dave.  Jug bands.  That would be fun.   One station I listen to on Pandora is jug bands.

Oh,Uncle. This is a deep arch. The planks were a full 2 inch thick and I used most of that thickness for the arch. One inch lumber would have been fine. I don,t know how mine will work. That,s the fun part. Today we have our "Battle of the Jug Bands" at Amazing Grace in Duluth. All day jug band fun. About 7 bands compete. Starts with a jug band brunch and jam. Then all day music. My bowed diddly and box fiddle will get a workout. :^) happy Memorial Day!

Thanks Uncle, RTZ. All the splinters have been moved from the viola to my hands. I,m healing. As far as the smooth is concerned, "clean as a whistle" makes for clean tone. And RTZ, the simplest of these homemade guits are just as much an instrument as any.of mine. That,s the beauty of cBgs. Some just have too much time on our hands.

Oh gee.  You have been a busy man.  The previous photo was splinter city.   Wonderful.  I did not expect this much grain and appearance of 3D depth and smoothness.
