Nice one Reeds, my mother in law wants something electrical for Xmas, so I'm making her a nice electric chair with a tight fitting skull cap to keep he head nice and warm, just fitting the plug now, and it'll be finished. Should light her life up for a short while at least!

Here is the story behind these....My neighbor (the one I made the Dora the Explorer uke for) seen me in the hallweay one day, and I had asked her what she would like me too make her for Xmas this year....she thought for a few seconds and says...I would like a boat with a robot driving it....I said I didn't knowif I could but I would try....she then says too me you can do it Stewy..." your the bestest inventor I know". How could I refuse...so I researched and found the simple version that Bill was mentioning....and just put my touch too it.

Bug there's a paddle insert in the rear that's connected too two elastics.....one on each side....you then twist the paddle till the elastics are tight...sit the boat in water and let go of the paddle......in turn the boat cruises across the water. Right now I'm painting them...when I'm finished I'll post more pictures with a better view of the propulsion system....lol...big words for a toy....lol

Used to make those as a kid.  Only just a flat piece or wood with paddlewheel at back.
