Gary, I,ve got some nice parts in the wings. One is a banjolin neck. It has a "pot stick" (extension from the heal to the tail). That should make a sturdy mando.

Yup, Dave.  I have a mando and do some 2 finger chords.   I have a Jim Morris mando as well, but it is currently set up as a uke.

I,ve been enjoying the Mando's lately. Ever tried them Uncle? Two finger chords is my speed. I,ve got a dozen hanging around. Getting closer to building one from scratch.
