My first attempt at it. A little crude, but so is a log. I think it will work. Used a drill, flat chisel, rasp, flat file, dremmel drum sander. I need a tiny dremmel drum to finish her.

Slid the slope last night. A benefit for a friend and luthier Gerry Hinckel. He makes Finish instruments, Contolas and Yohecos (sp?). He lost his home and needs to fix up his shop to become his home. My band (The Procrastinators) played the last set. Wow, the Finish musicians who came from Finland to play for it were fabulous. And the president of Red House Records also played. He's a Fin also. Nice man and good player/singer. It was a warm time in cold old Duluth.

Sounds like a fun time. I think I might like this slippery slope :-)

Watch out Blue, it's a short slide to Hell, sliding on a Witch. A slippery slope for sure. Or as my dad used to say, "Sliding down the razor blade of life".....

Oh I know he is, I think he would be proud of what I am doing. By the way your slides go great with my Witch :-)

That would be "perfect" wouldn't it..... Don't worry, he's looking over your shoulder and helping.

It's funny you mention imperfections. We did a wooden workbench project together that had a minor imperfection and he could never seem to live with it. I too am a lot like my Father( more than just looks )I wish my Dad was still around because we would most likely be building CBG's together. We had talked about it before he passed away and I think he was more excited about it than I was.

Dad's are like that. Mine would be proud of me and alarmed at the same time. We're a lot alike. Wish he was still around. I don't mind the imperfections. They're just the marks of trial and error.

Looks good from here Dave but if your anything like me It's only good if it's perfect. I got that from my Father.

You will get it cleaned up and looking good.

Ya, i screw up from moment to moment. Note the divits, chew marks, wiggling slots. The whole body, neck, head are all tilted from one to the other. The whole log wiggles. It's the most organic build yet for me. Tony made a nice pocket for the controls that will glue onto the tail. It will hold the volume, tone and jack. There's good room on the top for a pickup without cutting a hole for it other than a wire hold. It's coming together. ..... Thanks friends
