Canjos are simple and alot of fun ! Aluminum drink can's work well, regular old tin vegetable cans work and sound different and candy/cookie tins work also. Best of luck with building one !!!

It look so easy and fun to play Rob. Have to build one.

Maybe thats a good start to learn the art of fretting.

I was looking at youtub and it sound like its possible to make lots of different "tonepictures".

I will start looking for nice can at once.

Roland, canjo's are pretty basic. A piece of wood (I fret mine diatonically like a dulcimer) a can and a string. Fretting with one string isn't much of a challenge. They sound kinda like a tinny banjo. I get totally zoned out pickin' out church hymns, old folk and kids songs ... It's super simple and alot of fun !!!
