Maybe “loud” isn't the right word, but the box seamed to sound better than it does now. I think the neck under the bridge is too large and blocks vibrations.
As my wife is working these days in the same room as I play music, it's a little difficult to record before few days/weeks…
I'll try with my phone, maybe
I have time to make others (in progress) before that day :)
And yes, I like quiet guitars too, so I can play at night without annoying folks in the house

I don’t think loud is that important. I’ve found for recording quiet works as good as loud. Besides, you won’t annoy as many folks with your play.

II thought about painting the head too. Did not find the right mix of color, and you're right, it's better like this, rough.

Me too, on loving the recent can gits.  That is a great looking can and treatment of it.  The head stock is dandy and complimentary.  Palllet wood.  Good.   

I know that I don't have a good artist's sense of color use.  I would have tried to paint the head stock a similar color like the tin's color.  I see now, that would have been a mistake.   This looks great.

Now don't screw it up!
