One neck just routed and one shaped and part-finished

This shows the difference between a neck that has just been shaped on the router and what I end up with. The oak neck on the left (this one is for Anders) has not yet had the hand work done. The other (in parana pine) has been shaped and sanded.

The router does an excellent job, and the transition of the profile from the neck into the headstock is really classy.

Wouldn't want to take it away from anyone (lucky guy). Probably would get slivers from it anyway...

Hi Dave.

Thank you for the compliment. I think Andy (Anders) might not be too pleased if I let you have the one on the left. It is going to be part of a guitar for him.

Thanks again.

Beautiful work and picture. I'd settle for the rough one...

Hi Bruce and Andy.

Thanks a lot for the comments.

Andy. I have just glued on the fretboard and it's sitting in my kitchen all clamped up.

All the best.

John
