Comment by Ronnie Retherford on December 12, 2010 at 7:20am: No truss rod installed in this one Colin. You shouldn't need one if you are using a shorter scale and put the red oak in the neck. I have installed two non-adjustable truss rods in the two octave mandolins I have made and felt very comfortable about the outcome.
