Nicely done, T! I agree with Uncle John about being averse to cutting into an old plate to mount a pickup. And obviously with you, as well! Great job planning for the bridge location. I'm liking the whole 'Skunk River' thing - - just don't want to be anywhere's NEAR there when that Levee breaks!

PS:  It would be cool to do the song on a Skunk River LPG!  Will make do with what I have. It sounded pretty good on my little CB-mandolin.

Tee, I sat down and wrote a Skunk River song this morning.  Seems like a good one right now.  Wil have to see  if it still seems good tomorrow.  If it seems good, will try to make a video.

Love the Tailpiece and the Bridge, which don't impair the look of a very nice Iowa Licence Plate :-)

LOL, on the name.  Small world.

Another tidbit.  In Ames, Squaw Creek feeds into the Skunk River.  But Squaw Creek is not politically correct, so will soon be re-named.

UJ--I had a next-door neighbor who hailed from Iowa and when he learned of my addiction, I mean hobby, he generously gave the plate to me. We lived in Hardin County for about 5 yrs, just north of Story County. I like your suggestion: Skunk River Blues it is!

Iowa plates sound the BEST!  How did that one find its way to NC?  I hope it sounds good for you.  I have a similar looking white and black birthyear (1950) Iowa plate that I have not yet used.  It is my music room den.   FYI , 48 county is Story County which is one county east of me and nearly dead center in the state.  It is the home of the Ames, Iowa and the Iowa State Cyclones.   The Skunk River passes through Ames and the county.  Man, Skunk River Blues would be a fine title.
